From their myspace:

http://www.myspace.com/prognemo

October 2008 : new live album of their 2007 concerts, featuring tracks from the Si partie I & II albums.

December 2008 : Sixth studio album of the band “Barbares”, album produced wih the 8 years experience and the will to always go ahead in composition and experimentation.

SWEET!!!

I will say this over and over- the most underrated band on this website!

Great news - Si Parti II was recommended to me by Erik Neuteboom, and led me to buying Si Parti Un last week. Wish December was here already!

JP, a couple of questions for you:

1. Where does your band reside?

2. Are the vocals always going to be in French? Has the band ever discussed singing in English?

3. Is there anywhere I can get your lyrics in English?

4. Your band gives musical tributes (Dream Theater for example) in various songs. Is this improvised? Or is it written in the music? What bands does Nemo listen to? (Prog and non-Prog)

5. How do you guys describe your music? Does the term "Progressive Rock" fit you? Smile

6. What does the band do for fun? (When your not playing music)

THANKS!

1. Where does your band reside?

I and Guillaume are living in Le Puy en Velay, Auvergne, France.
Lionel lives in Grenoble and JB in Lyon.

2. Are the vocals always going to be in French? Has the band ever discussed singing in English?

It's a choice to sing in French, because it's more natural for us. We're often told
that we would sell many more records if the songs were sung in English... What's your point of view ?
Maybe we'll try an album in English in the future, just to see if this is true. Would you
prefer us to sing in your language ?

3. Is there anywhere I can get your lyrics in English?

I'm afraid that you cannot...

4. Your band gives musical tributes (Dream Theater for example) in various songs. Is this improvised?
Or is it written in the music? What bands does Nemo listen to? (Prog and non-Prog)

Every quotation are from jamming, and it always give us fun :)
Sometimes we decide to record them, sometimes not. We all listen to very different stuff.
I'm a Hard Rock and a prog rock listener, and I like bands such as Porcupine Tree, The Flower kings,
Yes, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath... I guess Lionel loves the same bands, Guillaume likes stuff like
Peter Gabriel, Muse, Porcupine Tree and JB funk music and... Porcupine Tree :DD

5. How do you guys describe your music? Does the term "Progressive Rock" fit you? Smile

I'd say that Nemo is a kind of Hard progressive rock band, with additions of other musics we like
as Funk, Metal, Jazz or south american music... I think all that blend can be called "progressive rock".

6. What does the band do for fun? (When your not playing music)

Well, we all have a job, and I have two daughters. Music is our passion and we play as often as we can !

Thank you so much for your reply. To answer some of your question:

I have never minded listening to your band sing in French- Nemo is one of my favorite bands so keep doing what the band sees fit!

You are the only band I listen to that sings in French, which makes it a very unique experience.

I think you all have excellent taste in music! Smile

Thanks for your reply, and I look forward to hearing the new album. I know it will be excellent! (Whether it's sung in French or EnglishTongue)
