PTH have been cleared for inclusion by the Prog Metal Team.Gives us time please,we have a lot of bands on our "Cleared" list.

And this is in the wrong forum section, the Prog Music Lounges are meant for bands in the archives ONLY.

Oh you are joking.
PTH aren't prog.
If they can be included, then add Job for a Cowboy, Bring me the Horizon, All Shall Perish etc.
It seems as long as anything is slightly technical, it can now be included in the archives.
Shallow band, mediocre, generic guitar work, pretty much the same drumming in every song, lyrically uninspired.

Just because you don't like it that dosen't mean it isn't prog. Besides their are many bands here in PA that have all of these things you've mentioned and that dosen't mean they aren't prog.

Lyrically they are completely inspired. They've put out two concept albums about women being repressed (in that sense they are almost like the first feminist metal band :-p) Its not the same old sh*t about anger!!! and sex!!

They are the heaviest band i've ever heard that still has technicallity.

File under: bands that I have no reason not to like... but for some intangible reason I just don't.  It's weird.

Well PTH have allot of more artistic leanings for a so called Metalcore band, I guess they might as well be here since the title of Prog is tossed around much more these days.

And not that they're similar in any way, but adding PTH could leave us open for other technical metal bands such as A7X and Trivium (Who I do not deem as progressive bands though they have more artistic leanings to their music.)

I for one disagree on your assessment of which album is better, I feel the tracks on Kezia have more variety and compostional adventure, whereas Fortress is (more)straightforward shred stuff.  The band rules though, no doubt.

I actually will defend them being prog metal, despite me not liking a single aspect about them
people need to get around the PA mentality that "prog= good" automatically

oh wow I said the same thing like 3 posts ago
and no one listens

Well it seems that I annoyed a few people. I still stand by my original statements.
Scale runs don't make songs. The singer is a whiny, annoying pop-rock vocalist. Their lyrics aren't inspired, it's pseudo-intellectual rubbish, and when they've done interviews I've read, they've name dropped poets and philosophers with no clear understanding of what they really did.

As for the guy who commented on Opeth. Do me a favour.

Protest the Hero has awesome guitar work, but Christ, the vocalist is unbearable, and the drums sound like blast beats half the time! Still, after listening to both albums twice, I can see why someone would recommend them for being on here. They have many prog qualities, but then again, there are as many arguments you can make to say that they aren't prog...

Would you like some Bailey's?

They've been added already and indeed the vocalist is kind of annoying. He should relax or take a break or something.
