people need to get around the PA mentality that "prog= good" automatically

The problem is not that people think prog = good, it's that people think good = prog, and are suggesting completely non-prog bands for PA, on the basis that they're intelligent or good bands. It's rediculous.

There's been quite a fuzz about PTH since they've been added. I liked them at first. Now I just don't have words for them. They annoy my ears incredibly fast.

The music is okay albeit very derivative (especially from Between the Buried and Me), but the vocals slay any chance I have of enjoying it.

I just listened to the album and enjoyed it very much. The vocals don't bother me at all ... I guess it's entirely a matter of taste. Also, I don't find it derivative at all, and Between the Buried and Me didn't invent the genre either.Smile

It's so nice to see how much my(and the PMT's) hard work is appreciated. Some people must like them,Fortress' rating is PERFECT.

To the people questioning their progginess.....do you feel Between the Buried and Me deserved inclusion here?Because both bands are pretty similar stylistically.

It took me a while to appreciate the vocals. Give it some time. They are truly a fantastic group.

Well it will be the only group with those kind of vocals I'll try and accept...hehe.  I trashed them pretty quickly but did like what the band was doing.  I'll trick a punk friend into buying it and get a copy. LOL

As I mentioned in my first post. Why don't you just stick Job for a Cowboy, Bring me the horizon and yes, Between the buried and me on here too.

That should give you a clear idea of what I think anyway.

Between the buried and Me are on here and dislike the vocals if you will but I think you've heard maybe 3 minutes of one of their songs to lump them in with those two

Agreed

But I'd also point out again that I don't think they naysayers are giving Protest the Hero a fair shot. It takes more than one listen to really understand this group.

Now, I'm all for freedom of expression and opinion, but this is bullsh*t:

I mean, absolute bullsh*t:

  • 5%20stars DoomsdayClock
  • 5%20stars caedes
  • 5%20stars River-peth (Gregory)
  • 5%20stars Redy60 (Radoslav Glushkov)
  • 1%20stars laplace ((I/L)olo Iamnhnia) COLLABORATOR Forum Stimulator
  • Seven votes of 5, and one vote of 1, which is rating only. Now, I think there should either be a review added, or the vote revoked, because at the moment, this obviously seems like a sort of attempt to lower the rating of an album.

He didn't wrote anything at all, unless it's been deleted. In any I also wouldn't give it a five. Maybe a 3. MAYBE.
