Two superb albums to recommend to fans of Henry Cow, Art Bears, Slapp Happy (related projects) and for those into Canterbury Scene music (Kew Rhone etc.)

It's very accessible music, and very enjoyable.  Perhaps choosing one track is a silly exercise, but I like having polls to go along with appreciation threads,

I went For Arcades, but Anno Mirabilis is superb as well.

Although I much prefer LETTERS with Wyatt singing.
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

I chose Waited/Justice, but already regret. I should have gone for Dragon at the Core.

Letters Home really isn't an album where I haven thought about what my favorite track is. Haven't listened to Sirens... nearly as much (yet).
Over land and under ashes
In the sunlight, see - it flashes
Find a fly and eat his eye
But don't believe in me
Don't believe in me

^ both are so good, but I find all listed very good.  I voted for Anno Mirabilis (so to vote for something, but almost went with Dragon at the Core and Waited/ Justice too.  Incidentally, yesterday as Waited/ Justice was playing and Wyatt started singing, my wife started laughing.  Arrghh, she knows I'm a Wyatt fan and must know his voice by now... I told her, well not everyone can sing like Celine Dion, in fact, nobody should.

Bj-1:
I'm not that big a fan of theirs (or Art Bears for that matter) but for what it's worth, there's the "boxset" I have with their two albums and single which is worth getting:

Oddly enough, not long after her comment, I did put on Aksak Maboul's Un Peu's first track loudly and asked her what she thought of it.  She didn't comment.  And I have played Diamanda Galas for her in the past -- not her cuppa. LOL

Incidentally, I played much of NfB compilation album today in the car on a long trip.  Noticed her tapping her feet to "Dark Matter", and she seemed to enjoy that, so I guess that would be her pick.

I mulled over this for a little while, but the only resolution I came to was my incapability of narrowing the choice down to just one. I've never been able to do this. I think Sirens works beautiful as a whole and find myself listen to it more than any of the Art Bears records. I cannot speak for Letter Home as I still have not heard this album.

I love both albums and every single song, but Dragons at the core blows my had really far away. Incredible band featuring a most talented bunch. Who will accuse also kills me... ”and it is at the beggining of the freaking album!. To my amusement, it went better and better from that point to the end.

Meanwhile, whenever it is that I try to talk over some Wyatt song, my girlfriend makes me shut up and there was this time in wich "O caroline" was on and I received a bland object in the head as a "sush!".

Really? Almost wish I could swap ladies.  I had thought "O Caroline" might make her a believer, but it didn't work.  Maybe I should have played her Wyatt's version of "I'm a Believer."  My wife would have a theological problem with Wyatt.  I rather regret having sung along with Matching Mole's "God Song" while she was around when I was going through something of a crisis.
