Yes, they suck. They FRIGGIN' SUCK. THEY SUCK YOUR SOUL OUT. They suck you out of your body, then do some crazy sh*t, and put you back in. And then you're a believer. Orthodox Köhrmahnite. There is no escape.

Naw, here's what they suck at: they suck at doing gigs outside of France! Not everyone can afford to go to France all the time! At least this year they're gonna pop to Tallinn and London. It may be my chance now..!

I listen to this album a lot these days. Doubtless the more fun studio album of the group.

^ I agree with you on this one your duckness! I once came to the conclusion that it's my favourite Magma.
I love how the wind instruments blend with everything and how tight it is.

The remake of Riah Sahiltaahk is very nicely done.
Emehntehtt-Re is becoming my favourite Magma album, though they've done quite a few albums I consider 5 star quality.

Magma in Jean Yanne's movie. A fable on capitalism.

I agree with both of these assessments. Definitely the two I listen to the most. I love that the appeal is so broad that both an early and latter album can be favorites.

^ I do miss the horns, the 'insanity' of the younger Vander, Francis Moze's noodly bass.
I do appreciate and enjoy this modern take on a classic piece.
I love how the balance of the band and choir have been levelled out these days.
No longer is it the bass and drums fighting for space between the choirs and vocal arrangements, all nicely balanced out now.
I love Magma..........

It's a nice fart in the face of the original poster, that his dismissive troll post would turn instead into a bona fide appreciation thread.  Take that, random guy!

Huh!  Magma are the most overrated band in the known or unknown Universe! Vander can't sing, his lyrics make no sense, and he hired John French to play drums on most of the studio albums!

Hmmm. The Studio Zund box sitting on top of my amp just called me a liar...

All Magma is god!  Either you live in the celestial harmony of the music or you don't!  I will say this that I prefer listening to Magma live than on their albums proper.  The raw and unfettered nature of Zeuhl is at it's best in a sweaty and orgasmic live situation where all souls join in a primal exercise of celestial transcendence!  Thus I have a copious amount of their live and even bootleg material.  Magma is almost 50 years old!...how many artists can you say have been around for that long and still putting out music that is relevant....

I thought you were serious      (dumb me.......)
Actually, I've just finished listening to the Live Theusz Hamtaahk from the Retrospective Vol. 1&2 LP I have (with Vander's head on it and he's holding a drumstick). Absolutely exhilarating. I don't know how they do it, but this is one band that never lets up. Can't wait to get Sl*g Tanz.
I really wish Francis Moze would get involved again - I don't even know what he's up to these days, or even if he's still with us.....??

I really like the rate Magma has been releasing stuff lately, I've been pretty content with a new EP each year for the past 3 years, will there be another next year? I hope! So  who knows if they have another full length (or multi-album concept) in them,  at this rate I've been happy that they're even doing  this much in addition to the patchwork of new live shows, etc that they periodically release...

EP's maybe, but quality over quantity.
