The Progressive Line releases of the first two albums ("Strawbs" & "Dragonfly") are bootlegs. Very good bootlegs, but still not legit releases. They were taken off the legit CD releases, so they sound fine and look fine (I have "Strawbs" on Progressive LIne and "Dragonfly" on the legit paper sleeve release).

I would have gone to see them last year but they had to sell out and participate in that stupid cash grabbing prog festival we have here in Montréal which I refuse to have anything to do with. If they came on their own man I`d love to see them. The Strawbs are one of my faves from the seventies.

I will be at the Strawbs show in Annapolis, Maryland, USA on June 14th. Should be fine show and I am excited about hearing material from the new CD.

Great news, especially Nomadness on CD!

Dragonfly is on CD already  I have an Australian 2001 release of Dragonfly without bonus tracks from ' Progressive Line', a division of Dole Music. I hope it is a legitimate release.

Strawbs are recording a new album for planned release in September this year. The offical website says "Strawbs' new album will be called THE BROKEN-HEARTED BRIDE. It is being recorded by the Hero and Heroine line-up in late April, early May 2008 for an expected September release date. Some of the newly recorded songs are likely to be featured on the Electric band tours in the UK and the US. Chris Tsangarides, who did such a wonderful production job on Secret Paths is back at the controls."

The band are also about to undertake a UK tour:

STRAWBS - ELECTRIC TOUR UK, MAY-JUNE 2008

Wednesday 21 May 2008 - The BoardWalk, Sheffield

Thursday 22 May 2008 - Glenfarg Hotel, Glenfarg

Friday 23 May 2008 - The Ferry, Glasgow

Saturday 24 May 2008 - The Platform, Morecambe

Sunday 25 May 2008 - The Inn At Lathones, St Andrews

Tuesday 27 May 2008 - The Stables, Wavendon, Milton Keynes

Wednesday 28 May 2008 - Wyeside, Builth Wells

Thursday 29 May 2008 - Robin 2 Club, Bilston

Friday 30 May 2008 - The Playhouse, Sleaford

Saturday 31 May 2008 - Maddermarket Theatre, Norwich

Sunday 1 June 2008 - Memorial Hall, Freshwater IOW

Wednesday 4 June 2008 - Half Moon, Putney

Thursday 5 June 2008 - The Brook, Southampton

Friday 6 June 2008 - Princess Pavilion, Falmouth

Saturday 7 June 2008 - The Hailsham Pavilion, Hailsham

Finally the three missing albums on CD are to finally be released. Once agin from the offical website:

At last the three missing A&M Strawbs albums - Strawbs, Dragonfly and Nomadness - are coming out on CD from Universal, with bonus tracks as set uot below. Dave Cousins has had his approval copies, so release must not be far away (no confirmed date yet)

Strawbs - bonus tracks

  • Poor Jimmy Wilson (BBC recording)
  • The Battle (BBC recording)

    Dragonfly- bonus tracks

  • We'll Meet Again Sometime (Studio version)
  • Forever (Studio version)
  • Another Day (BBC recording with Clare Deniz)
  • We'll Meet Again Sometime (BBC recording with Clare Deniz)
