I can't quite drive and my parents would frown upon me taking the train in by myself..at first my dad wanted to go, then the show sold out in less than a day (bear in mind this was months ago). This Saturday they released extra tickets, and my dad no longer wanted to go, he said it was too short notice

Off-topic, but I share your pain. I missed Return to Forever because my family was celebrating my brother's graduation on Sunday (which I am obligated to go)..... and two days before Sunday, my mom realized, outloud, "hey, I guess we could've just scheduled the party for Saturday, why didn't I think of that before... oh well, too late now to reschedule!" ...... !!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!! And when I tried to explain how monumental RTF and the tour was, she had no understanding, and simply replied "well they'll probably come back next year" ...... !!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!! I'm going to look for tour shirts on ebay anyways. I was there in heart, just not in person.

I went to Nearfest and it was taped, but probably not for the LTE dvd/cd, but I'm sure they taped the two NYC BB king's dates, cause I saw a lot of cameras around and well, its two shows back to back in one night, so I'm sure it was taped.
Also, a lot of cds that Portnoy has been on at BB King's were taped and released on dvd/cd.

Downey was taped as well 7 cameras in all. Not sure about Chicago but according to Tony Levin on his web site they had a major glitch with the Keyboards 2/3 through that show that never got resolved. He noted Rudess even played some lead guitar during the jam that occurred while trying to fix his keyboard. There was about a 10 minute gaffe with Petrucci's rig at Downey but all that did was extend Rudess's solo which was brilliant.
Here are some pictures from Downey. The crowd shot was taken by Tony Levin. That is my son on the far left in the front row.
