There are very few people involved in making music that deserve the "genius" label, but he's one of them, IMO.

I have Angel Dust, all three Mr. Bungle albums, The Director's Cut, and Irony is a Dead Scene (all of which are totally essential, btw).

I want more Patton, but I'm unsure where to turn to next. Reading through this thread has helped somewhat, but I'm still not sure what to get next if, say, I only wanted to get 2-3 more albums that he's on.



Check out John Zorn's Six Litanies for Heliogabalus.  It's a bunch of Zornian awesomeness, and features an 8-minute piece arranged for Patton alone.
