Topic: Active topics navigation doesn't work Posted: July 08 2008 at 02:35 |
I just noticed that on the active topics page the navigation doesn't work ... when I select something from the dropdown (e.g. "last 8 hours") and then try to go to a different page of the list, the selection gets lost. Apparently the selection is stored in an url parameter which used to be in the page navigation, but isn't anymore.
Did M@x by any chance upgrade the forum software in the last few days? |

I've noticed that it is working more intermittently than it used to. Fine right now though. I remember noticing M@x said in a post he had change a parameter relating to it which updated the last visited time every x minutes.

I've had problems with it lately, the date in the dropdown box keeps reverting to January 8th 2008 for me.

I had the same problem earlier today. It has happened before, but this time it seemed more persistent.

This specific problem is right now, I think, constantly happening. I, at least, haven't been able to navigate from one active topics page to another (selecting "4/8/12/etc. hours ago) at all!

I was about to report it too. It happened to me before sometimes but now it's almost every time!

I'm relieved to see it's not my computer.
Note to M@x, I don't see this as a high priority, given the challenges faced by the site lately (hack attack). Mind you, I've still got an ear to ear grin from the Eagles' show last night at the Magnetic Hill concert site (With John Fogerty, KT Tunstall, Sam Roberts) |

I'll be a 4th to say that the Active Topics function has seemed to have quit working correctly today. Hopefully, this is just a temporary glitch.

If you just change the page number at the top, it works OK. Annoying, but useful if you're getting the problems.

Today and yesterday it was out of order again. It comes and goes ... almost seems to me like M@x is switching between forum versions, one has the bug and in another one it's fixed.
EDIT: You can all try for yourselves: Just go to the active topic page and select "last 8 hours" from the dropdown. Then when you try to go any other page of the result, the mode automatically defaults back to the first option of the dropdown. This happens because a parameter is missing in the url of those links - it's really a bug in the forum software. Edited by MikeEnRegalia - August 04 2008 at 17:23 |

It's happening again now. Every time I try to go on to the next page of Active Topics, the date at the top reverts back to January 11th.

As Pnoom says, changing the page number (PN) seems to be a good workaround meanwhile, till it gets sorted.
