CARDIACS official website (www.cardiacs.com) is reporting (July 16) that Tim Smith, their leader, has suffered a heart attack. Apparently this happened late last month, and he is recovering and out of immediate danger. I'm sure you'll join with me in wishing this amazingly creative man a full recovery.

I am truly devastated by this news. He has to get well, he has so much unfinished life to live.

It's really sad to hear about that, but the irony that he had a heart attack and he's in the Cardiacs is a bit overwhelming.

Its sad news, but at the same time, isn't kind of ironic that the leader of a band called "The Cardiacs" suffered a heart attack himself? Joking aside, I wish him well and a speedy recovery.

^ More ironic if you consider that the band was called Cardiac Arrest from 1977-80. The name was changed to Cardiacs because of another band named Cardiac Arrest. Before that, it was called The Filth (and note the Cardiacs song "Baby Heart Dirt"). Anyway, considering that such heart attacks are so common, it's hardly surprising that a member would suffer one.
Not to be glib, but I wonder if any of the Cardiacs have been arrested? I hope Tim Smith is recovering well. Going to search for latest news. |
