I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

Duh!!!) so I have always thought he was pretty cool for not backing down, but my vote goes to Vompatti.

Cool story!

but I cant say no to Chuck Norris...for they say he is so tuff* there is no chin under his beard... just another fist!

I´m pretty sure I mispelled tuff... or however its spelled

Hmm, I see you only have one fictional character on your list.  That, of course, being Steven Seagal. Tongue
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Ha-ha. As if politics got anything with to do with coolness in the first place.

I'll join the Miles fan club:

Steven Seagal's not fictional, I've seen him on TV.

Vompatti for the simple reason that he doesn't quote himself followed by Miles Davis,Robert Fripp and then Willyfred the Rabbit. Willyfred is just cool because he is Robert Fripp's rabbit.

hhahahahhahahhahah...   never had seen that...  brilliant... espcially the slow motion 'dance of death' at the end that Peckinpah brought to film and became a cinematic standard.

John Lydon should be there. Why ? How many people get assaulted, have their knee slashed, beaten up, then charged with assault, and keep on doing their "art" ? Then explain how the reason for the afore mentioned assault (the Queen) is actually someone they admire, but feel that their national government has prostituted in the name of touristic voyeurism ?
Oh, and Bon Scott, man. Hard Rock troubadour, oblivious to the egotistical trappings of fame, and celebrity. Thank God, he died before he hit the big time, so he has avoided the commercial status of the pantheon of T-Shirt Icons (Lennon/Cobain/Elvis et al).
Oh, Okay, and Sponge Bob, for overcoming the "gay" tag assigned to him by fundamentalist crappers in the U.S. of Eh.
And maybe, my Dad.... those with a good one will not need an explanation.
