^ No matter how many times I've heard some of the key tracks on that album from other sources, I just can't get into the music. I might give up on old-school jazz some day.

A Kind of Blue is one of the few Jazz albums I can tolerate listening to through and through.
It is a nice choice, but I understand why you may want to 'give up' on some forms of jazz. :)

Seriously guys it the highest rated jazz album of all time, if you can't appreciate this you should give up on classic jazz.

I respect the hell out of the album...I just don't love it though. Jazz is a type of sound that really doesn't do a whole lot for me. I can't get goosebumps listening to jazz. I'll just put it that way, but A Kind Of Blue is a very special album. I do realize that. Glad to hear you enjoy it though. :)

I'm relatively new to jazz, I always liked it in a kind of when-its-on sort of way, then around 5 years ago I started exploring more, started with the classics (Miles - Coltrane - Rollins - Brubeck - etc) and then branched out into more modern. minimalist and avant jazz. I have really started to focus on most modern forms of jazz recently.

Yeah - Where did you find Höyry-Kone?

Found this today at a used record shop, in excellent condition, to go with my old one in kinda rotten condition. Now I can display both sides on my album cover wall.

Very cool.  Did it also have the Fripp journal booklet?
