I just wanted to hear what is a logical (dare I say) conclusion to Mark's musical evolution.

With the recent gift card I got for my birthday, I decided to get up to date with some of the new releases I've been curious about and ordered the following:

Brian Jonestown Massacre - Musique de Film Imaginé (Any new BJM release is a given. I've never heard a bad album by Anton.)
Kamasi Washington - The Epic (Really excited about this one. Supposedly close to the spiritual jazz of a fave of mine: Pharoah Sanders. I'll believe it when I hear it)
Django Django - Born Under Saturn (Their first album was a brilliant new take on psychedelic pop with loads of electronic bits. I wonder whether the new one can live up to it's predecessor)
Ozric Tentacles - Technicians of the Sacred (First Ozrics album I've picked up in years. Fan of the mid 90s output but got a little tired of knowing what to expect with every new release. In other words: this is a gamble)
Viet Cong - s/t (Heard a lot of wonderful things about this one. Modern post-punk? Again, I'll believe it when I hear it. Either way, it doesn't have to be cutting edge nor does it have to re-invent the wheel, because I rather like this kind of stuff. The only way this could turn out badly is if the music is completely different than how RYMers describe it. Dog knows that has happened to me beforeOuch)

Until All the Ghosts Are gone - Anekdoten

Since I purchased this digital album from their bandcamp page, I often see ads for trips to Sweden on my facebook page Ermm.

Please comment on the MMJ once you've listened a few times.  I was disappointed with the last one, so I did not pick it up with my purchases the other day.

For sure!  I've only listened through a couple of times and I liked what I heard, but I want to listen a few more times.  Been hooked on Melody's Echo Chamber.  SO good.

Also, just to note, The Waterfall is my first experience with MMJ, so I have nothing to compare it to, really.  I actually received it when I went to a taping of Ellen in Hollywood and they were there to perform.

Arrivals for this quarter, some may have been purchased last quarter.

Wolflight - Steve has done some excellent albums from a prog rock standpoint since Darktown.  I admit I may have missed one.  Cured had its good moments but it seemed he had a renewed interest in making prog rock with Darktown.

Far Skies Deep Time - I had all of BBT's albums in my collection.  Needed to add EPs to top things off.

Spectral Mornings 2015 - I held off on listening to this because I was skeptical it would be good.  Saw the video and then did a paid downloaded the EP.  Sigh, I still prefer good hardcopies.

Shine - I was reading about Joni Mitchell having some health problems.  I hadn't added an album in a while since Both Sides Now.

the finest of miracles - I tried this one on progstreaming because of the cool album cover.  Didn't take me long to order a hard copy.

Make Some Noise - I actually ordered the previous BBT EP to complete the English Electric "trilogy" as I had the sandwiching albums already.  So this does it.

Creation - It seems at some point in the past I heard some Keith Jarrett pieces that I really found interesting.  The verdict is still out on this one.  It sounded better in the print I read about it.  It's only my third album.  His first of three I now have, - Somewhere Before, from 1969, remains my vavorite.

Which brings me to last and certainly not least -

Only Sky by David Torn.   David has offered so much to so many other musicians.  This is a true solo album.  Ambient and atmospheric.  (If I'm not being redundant).
