By the way, on TP's facebook fanpage we can find a post I copied below (since it seems nobody have posted it in this thread):
Originally posted by Thinking Plague Thinking Plague wrote:

Dear friends, I feel that it is again time to apologize to those who 'follow' Thinking Plague on FB for the lack of information/activity on this page. Fact is, we have no PR 'department', not even an intern or volunteer. None of us are independently well-off, and all (except me, MJ) are heavily engaged in activities aimed at making a living - teaching classes, private lessons, tutoring, accompanying dance classes, working full-time for a soulless retail behemoth, and playing in other bands or doing itinerant gigs. So, it's down to me. And generally I'm not inclined to post frivolous or irrelevant stuff just to generate 'traffic', as it were. I have written a complete new album of material and am engaged in trying to get it learned and recorded. The band is also trying to rehearse material for performance, as well as trying to land some shows, which has become increasingly difficult or untenable in recent years (wah wah, I know, whining!). So, anyway, we just want you to know that a new CD is in the works, and as always, I think it's the best TP music yet! ;) We are exploring strategies around funding for performing outside our own region, and for expediting the completion of the new CD. I'll try to post more tidbits, but please feel free to initiate any kind of relevant discussion or interaction on this page.
Thanks,
Mike
So I think we can expect some good RIO stuff next year. LOL

Sweet!

I'll admit D&F hasn't slid too far up my list of TP albums, but I'm always excited to hear more from them.

Tartar Lamb III will be featured.

^Thanks for the list! Have the Knifeworld, Gong, Swans and Happy Family already. I wish I had grabbed UZ earlier but I delayed because of the price...now it seems much harder to find for a decent price.

Yeah, nice for them, but I'm currently living in Paris: a trip to Carmaux is either a 8 hour train trip, or a 12 hour car trip.
This is why I hope for them playing near Paris. Stern Smile

OR... Since I'm planning to relocate myself to the south of France, I could try to organise RIO concerts in Marseille and its nearby towns. Ermm

^ I think in Marseille, you would be much closer to Carmaux than you would in Paris, no?

Not sure at all. From what I read on the website of the SNCF (the French railways), the Marseille-Carmaux trip could last from 5 to 7 hours.
Gosh. Confused

PoiL Brossaklitt was seriously a GREAT buy for me. Still waiting on the vinyl but hell yes.

Dear God, THEY came all the way from Denver Colorado!! I've flown in from the USA the last 4 years for RIO, last year I flew to Paris, saw the Soleil Zeuhl Festival, drove from Paris to Carmaux, then flew back to the USA. Sorry if I don't have much sympathy, with these types of bands you have to be prepared to go to them (or as close as they get to you). You want them to come to your place and then complain that they don't when there's a history of no-one showing up.

Marseille looks like it's 4 hours, if you make there in the future I'll buy you a pint. It's a great festival.

Agree Nogbad.  I would certainly travel more for my RIO if I didn't have so many family/work/financial commitments!  As a result, most of the bands I have yet to see live - so still something to look forward to.
