It'll be interesting to hear what the earlier albums sound like. I have heard a new remaster of Cinema Show and it sounds pretty good. I already have a remaster of TLLDOB though, this would be my third copy.

Is the info on the Genesis box sets correct? The info on wikippedia is different. It states that the box set is due in October.  Also, their website does not have this info.  Why will the CDs be released by themselves @ a later date? That did not happen with the other box sets.

Excuse my ignorance. Are you saying their DVD( visual) footage for every remastered album from live shows? Just curious as to why the times per song are identical?

Cheers

nope, these are the same audio tracks but in a different form, the first disk is always a SACD & the second a DVD so I suppose the mastering is different & the visual material is an extra on the DVD, normally a band interview with comments about the record, plus when existing concerts or/and Video clips. My favourite ones so far are the Trick Of The tail concert and the Tour documentary on ATTWT. I am quite curious to see the new bonus material.

PS I just looked through the Wikipedia thread, there is indeed more footage then Eric posted, unfortunately the 1974 visuals are't from the lamb but Supper's Ready  & I know....

I suppose the revenue will help towards Phil Collins's latest divorce settlement.

In my memory there is no complete The Lamb video footage, perhaps Genesis uses the material of the Epping Forest DVD Group, they released a DVD featuring lots of rare 8 and 16 mm footage (from good to poor quality), all is perfectly blended with the music, incredible work Clap

Awsome!
Why is SECONDS Out excluded?
The Hi Rez mixing & mastering would increase the Dynamic Range & make this gem a sonic masterpiece.

I agree that Seconds Out should also be included in one of these box sets... but not this one. Seconds Out is a release from 1977 (recorded on the Wind & Wuthering Tour without Gabriel), so if it had been included in a box, it would have been 1976-1982 (the first one released, I believe).

This box set could have benefited from a remixed Genesis Live (from 1973). Maybe they could have even added in some "lost" recordings from the same show, especially "Supper's Ready"! Angry

Who knows though, maybe the live albums will get the box set treatments as separate/independent releases.... maybe even a (mini) box of just live stuff?!

^ that has been rumored...but I believe the whispering died down when it got out that there were no plans to re-release the live material in the near future.  But, after the hype following the next box dies down...if there is still considerable demand, I wouldn't be surprised to see that live box released, with hopefully plenty of bonus material.

Yesterday evening I had a talk with some Genesis freaks (on the Dutch Symforce II festival)
and I was told that the The Lamb live footage is from Bern (Switzerland), running time at
about 30 minutes with a good quality, something to look forward to Approve !
