Missus Beastly is some of the most serious and aggressive 70s jazz-rock/fusion Ive ever heard. I picked up the 2nd self titled album, Dr. Aftershave and the Mixed Pickles, and Space Guerrilla. Im listening to Space Guerrilla and Im only on the second track and I am already going nuts with this music. The keyboards and guitars are extraordinary and the rhythm section is phenomenal! I am going to have a great time exploring this music further. Anyone else heard this fantastic band? I havent been this excited about a new band in months!

I only have their second self titled album, which is very good, not too far behind my 'Out of Focus' (fav. german jazz-fusion) albums. I don't think many people have heard of them, they're pretty low key compared with the bigger German names. It was not until I was well into the German scene I picked this one up, shame they don't get more attention.

no one could find Dr Aftershave and the Mixed Pickles, and Space Guerrilla? these albums are better than the second debut IMO (i dont have the first debut album, it's also different in style from what i hear)

Listened to the first one last night, and had moments of the "Second", but some vocal nonsense like tracks also production seemed mixed a bit low...

Liked "Second" alot.. found Dr. Aftershave and Space Guerilla on gemm.com, now I have to wait for them to arrive from Russia.

I actually have not even looked. I tend to be a bit that way with prog, i'll buy one album then move on, even if I like it, which I did in this case. But truthfully, nine times out of ten I will pick up a jazz album rather than a fusion one. Do you know how easy they are to find on vinyl?

haha i used to do this all the time. I would try to get a fusion album, but got a straight jazz album. And although i'd disappointed at first, once i got over the fact, I'd listen to the music with no expectations and my regret for buying the album would go away Smile

Missus Beastly's Dr. Aftershave, Nucleus'  We'll Talk About It Later, Passport's first album, Embryo's We Keep On, Pataphonie's Le Matin Blanc, Secret Oyster's Straight to the Krankenhaus........are just a few of the very best jazz fusion albums produced in the 70's.

Good albums and good band, BTW Dark, they sound remember me of this band: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=2177

But less jazzy and more heavy/experimental.

Yes,they are indeed a fantastic group.

I was lucky, to be able to get the second,Dr Aftershave and Spaceguerilla through I-Tunes Canada.
These guys are super pros.

So if you like Passport and to an extent Kraan. You'll like this.
