I recently ran across this band on the Inside Out Music label.  When I did a search here on this band I found this thread which announced the release of the album.  The participation of POS and Paatos members as well as some guy named Steven Wilson should create some interest here on the archives.

I'm not sure if Prog Metal is the appropriate category as I have only heard the samples on their MySpace page but that is where I am leaning based on what I heard.

Here is their MySpace page:

Some info about them from the Inside Out webpage:

They are also on eMusic so I think that I might be downloading the album this weekend, so I can probably make it available if that would be of help in evaluating it.

Thank you again for your time and I hope that you enjoy your listen.

Scott

I see on your website that you have added the band and downloaded the album and given them a pretty good rating.  And additional thoughts?

I'll probably post some track comments when I listen to it again. So far I'm really blown away by it, the only problem is that the first track appears to be much weaker than the others.

In a nutshell: Imagine a combination of Neal Morse, Dream Theater and The Flower Kings - but in a slightly more middle-eastern setting, with guest appearances of Petronella Nettermalm (Paatos) and Daniel Gildenlöw (Pain of Salvation), and a full blown prog epic (18+ minutes) with a Yes like a capella outburst, some heavy electronic beats + all of the above. And the best is that it all sounds fresh and spontaneous to me - not at all contrived, except maybe for - as I said above - the first track. I guess they were simply warming up ... Big%20smile

bump

It doesn't appear that this was seen originally.  They haven't been added to the charts on ProgFreak.

Thank you,

Scott

I also have the recent release. It's a good band, probably progressive enough for our site. Most likely category is heavy prog (65%) or crossover (35%). I think there are too many quiet moments in the songs to call this prog metal.
2nd track reminds me of Paatos, 5th track of Pain of Salvation because of the mentioned guest appearances. The rest is pretty varied.

What are we waiting for ?  I'd say: include !
A day without prog is a wasted day
