14 Fish In A Glass (1976) Beatles/Zappa flavoured cocktail
15 Wildebeeste (1999) violin driven surrealism
16 It Must Be Time For Bed (1999) minor ninth flattened fifths and elevenths abound, psychedelic cut-up
17 Charles Louis Dance (2002) chamber music for decaying English dance halls

1-3 from 'Stackridge' (1971)

Nice list.

In mine, I'd have found space for "The galloping Gaucho", "Happy in the lord" and "There is no refuge".Big%20smile

I have many fond memories of watching Stackridge in the early 70s. The Man in the Bowler Hat album is sheer joy from start to finish.

Syracuse the Elephant (from Friendliness) and No-One's More Important than the Earthworm (from Extravaganza) are also worth a mention from a prog rock angle.

I think if I had a choice, Road to Venezuela would be my all time top Stackridge tune.  The rolling percussion, the soaring fiddle and the vista offered by the lyric just about sum up how Stackridge are always more than the sum of their parts.  Someone was talking about a Stackridge newsgroup or message board the other day - any ideas where I should look?
