Post Metal/Prog Metal/ Classical/Whatever else
http://www.myspace.com/mutyumu
(somewhere in that nearly unnavigable labyrinthine mess of links is a link to their website, and another to their album that you can download for free)
It's hard to classify them -- definitely not straight post-metal, but not truly just prog metal either. It has a large influence from modern classical, ala piano and string elements (the piano is simply wonderful) and yet has influence from death metal/black metal and certainly Progressive Rock. It has a very grandiose feel to it, something very related to post rock, but the metal itself does not seem to fit a lot of post metal definitions.
I don't know; all I know is that it's very good.

I'm disappointed - neither of these players are avant-garde! Al di Meola.
haha i know. but the poll itself is avant-garde
Don't know if post is the right one for this - but should be checked out. Eclectic or perhaps Post. Agree that they should be added, original, advanced experimental music I would categorize as prog.

Yeah, I know that they have a very eclectic sound, so I wasn't sure.
But I'm glad they're getting attention.

Well, I was given the task of reviewing them for the Progressor site some time back, which is how I know them. Will see to it that it'll be checked out by a team here - eventually ;-)
