It is called Lay Down With The Strawbs and features a live concert filmed in 2006. I think it is going to be great! I have pre-oredered it already Smile

Some more info on this DVD. It was recorded and filmed at The Robin in Bilston, March 5th 2006.

The line up was:

David Cousins: vocals, guitar, banjo
Dave Lambert: lead guitar, vocals
John Hawken: keyboards
Chas Cronk: bass, vocals
Rod Coombes: drums
Special Guest: John Ford: vocals, guitar

For me it is especially interesting that John Hawken is here! He is a very underrated keyboard player with a strong influence on the early prog scene with his participation on Renaissance first couple of albums and then with the Strawbs and later on with Illusion.

The track list (which I must say is truely fantastic with a very strong emphasis on the two best and most progressive Strawbs albums; Ghosts and Hero And Heroine):

1. Lay Down
2. I Only Want My Love To Grow In You
3. Shine On Silver Sun
4. Ghosts
5. Remembering You And I When We Were Young
6. Cold Steel
7. Impressions Of Southall From The Train
8. The Life Auction
9. Out In The Cold
10. Round And Round
11. Just Love
12. Heroines Theme
13. Deep Summers Sleep
14. The Winter Long
15. Raqs Aswad (drum Solo)
16. Hero And Heroine
17. Round And Round (reprise)
18. Part Of The Union
-----------------------------------------------
Bonus acoustic set:
-----------------------------------------------
19. The Man Who Called Himself Jesus
20. Tears
21. Pavan
22. Kissed By The Sun
23. Heavy Disguise

I'm really looking forward to this release! ClapClap to the band and the record company for releasing this.

This sounds like an excellent release.  I saw this lineup (sans John Ford) in Annapolis MD USA for the 40th anniversary electric tour and they sounded wonderful.

Sadly, John Hawken retired from touring shortly after that show so this will be a fine DVD to add to my collection.

I have now added this DVD to the archives. I got it in my mail box on the release date, and I have since watched it twice. Its good, but not perfect. A review will come soon.
