I would recommend starting with his early prepared piano pieces, these are the most accessible. The albums or pieces usually have prepared piano in the title. For his electronic pieces you might want to try Fontana Mix for electronics (there are other Fontana mixes, some not so good). If you want big noisy sound collages try Variations IV. I find a lot of his later music to be unlistenable.

please recommend me where to start with john cage i find it difficult to find his offical albums and when i do i dont reconise the track listings can help tell me what your favourites are?
