Another show and definitely the usual mix of the unusual (buried deep and neglected in the archives) and the new (hopefully not too obvious???):

The obvious: the new Rush (said by many to be the best for sometime), Joe Bonamassa's newie (doesn't seem that long since the last one?). A little featurette on Spooky Tooth. Deep from the archives: Warm Dust, Brainchild, Fruup and the most obscure pub prog of Dogwatch (whose limited edition late 70's album is about to be released on CD). Brian Bromberg smooth's up Chicago. BTW thanks to Scot for recommending a few albums . And then some nu.jazz from Poland's Jazzpospolita and Mike Mainieri with his 'Norwegian Posse'. At least I forget, with my daughter's 21st this Wednesday, there's a song about an Alice and one from Loudon W III suitably celebrating his daughter when a mere babe - and now that a particular lady is Martha Wainwright the rock star and mine is looking for suitable job as a graduate palentologist...

Enjoy:

Good evening,

new Patti Smith's album is in some sense return to form, at least some songs are really more energetic than those from few previous albums

Didn't listen it in full, sound names but as often with similar tributes it looks there are more show than music. Still need to listen though...

Lost interest to Rush after 1981, their later works probably aren't my cup of tea

A bit of a Cuneiform special thanks to Joyce and Javier in Washington. Also thanks to Sid Smith (in Gateshead, no less) for the supply of a couple of Swiss bands, which have defied me wrt defining the music they play -Krimsoidal math jazzrock.....???? And Sue for The Avengers-of whom there was some excellent feedback last week. And there seemed to be some much else to find space for - while sampling 3 tracks from a current Cuneiform favourite, i.e. Pixel. You'll  also note a lot of instrumentals, so a little counter-balancing with a little 70's American rock and Nick Drake, then new prog from Rush and Squackett. Enjoy.
