I didn't know it.

Here's the wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FSB_(band)

Quote FSB (Bulgarian: ФСБ) (Formation Studio Balkantone or, mostly in Scandinavia, Free Sailing Band) are an influential Bulgarian art-rock/funk/pop (or progressive rock, as defined in Europe and the US) band, started in 1976 in Sofia as a studio project. FSB achieved great success in the 1980's and performed in numerous countries across Europe. Their collaboration with singer Jose Feliciano resulted in the album I'm Never Gonna Change and a Grammy award in 1990.

The official site: http://www.ubp.online.bg/fsb.html
Review: http://www.progressor.net/review/fsb_overall.html
And an FSB myspace site: http://www.myspace.com/fsb1

From what I've read, it looks like it is one for Art Rock, and may be  a good candidate for Crossover.  They did quite a few Gentle Giant covers back in the day; like to hear those.

I know it's very little info,. nbut I heard there 4 tracks on MySpace, not the slightest relation with Prog:

  1. Sled 10 Godini: Starts specey, but after a short intro turns into a simple and obvious power ballad.
  2. Visoko: A plain ballad, if I must be honest...very boring.
  3. Obicham Te Dotuk: Despite the strange percussion at the start, it's a POP song with some interesting keyboards but no Prog Relation.
  4. Igra Na Vaje: Please guys this is Funky Pop with Disco fugues.

I don't know if the rest of their albums have any Prog relation, but this four racks are anything but Prog,. not even Prog Related.

The band had a varied career; most albums were pop as I understand it.  See the progressor link.

Here's the rate yourmusic page: http://rateyourmusic.com/artist/fsb

From what I read there: The first album (1977) is mostly cover songs of Prog Rock (Gentle Giant, Le Orme, and Patrick Moraz...)

1978's release is original material that sounds like the debut (more clone than tribute).

Unfortunately, those myspace tracks are not representative of the prog period.

The discography from progressor is listed below.  I have put the ones in red that that reviewer considers progressive (I didn't note any samples at myspace from the prog albums -- the first four in particular).

This material is dedicated to the progressive part of creation of Bulgaria's best and most well known progressive band FSB (this is the abbreviation of Formation Studio Balkanton). The reviews of the band's non-progressive albums* and compilations are certainly needless here. The only exception will be "Singles Collection", which consists predominantly of unreleased tracks, including the earliest FSB recordings from 1975.

1977 - "Non Stop"
1978 - "II"
1980 - "The Globe"
1981 - "78 r. m."

1983 - "Ten Years After"
1984 - "VI"
1987 - "I Love You Up to Here"*
1988 - "Kissing You Goodnight"*
1989 - "Nothing Left to Do"*
1992 - "Singles Collection"

Of course, we would need to hear the progressive material to make an evaluation
 (at least samples).

Thanks.  This topic explains some of that (see number 2): http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=51990
When it comes to uploading mp3s to, say, badongo, I've experienced some problems.  But if you have any problems, PM me.
