Amarok also renewed my interest in Oldfield however the next album I checked out was Islands

Stay away from Islands...................except for the first song which is quite good.

I love Amarok.It was intended to be Ommadawn 2 as already mentioned.Both albums are great although Incantations is actually my MO desert island disc.

Amarok is maybe his best! It is very inspired and follows up perfectly to Ommadawn. Hergest ridge is very nice too, al lot quieter though.

Just wanted to add that the B-sides on the "pop albums" also are fabulous.

I love "Crises" and "Five Miles Out" - but I fully agree that Amarok is the greatest.

It's like "Short Cuts" transformed to music or ...
