UK progressive rockers Shadowland are going out on tour again for the first time in over twelve years. The band have announced a run of European dates in 2009 to coincide with a 'best of' compilation. Shadowland are:

  • Clive Nolan (Pendragon, Caamora, Arena, Neo) - vocals/piano
  • Karl Groom (Threshold, Strangers on a Train) - guitar
  • Mike Varty (Script for a Jester's Tour, Credo) - keyboards
  • Mark Westwood (Caamora, Neo) - bass/acoustic
  • Nick Harradence (NW10) - drums

  • The 'best of' album will be called A Matter of Perspective, featuring their favourite tracks from the three previously released (but now unavailable) albums, and also boasting some brand new material. This CD (over 70 minutes of music) will be available from February 2009. During the tour, Shadowland will also film a DVD (which will be called Edge of Night) for release later in 2009. The tour dates announced so far are:

13 Feb 2009: Riffs, Swindon, UK
15 Feb 2009: Pub Rock Cafe, Bielsko-Biala, Poland
16 Feb 2009: Wyspianski Theatre, Katowice, Poland
20 Feb 2009: Spirit of 66, Verviers, Belgium
21 Feb 2009: De Boerderij, Zoetermeer, Holland
22 Feb 2009: Die Halle, Frankfurt, Germany

^^^ many thanks for the heads up on this one, Steve...Clap

depending on the day of the week, I can't help feeling that 13th Feb might possibly be a Shed meet...Approve

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Friday the 13th?  Sounds like a good day for a shed meet! Confused Tongue

I think we'll be up at that one to see the boys. (being only 2 miles away, I don't think we'll be forgiven if we're not!)

I remember seeing them in Amsterdam once. Great show, but very few  people who came to see them. Too bad, because Shadowland really added something to neo prog.

Hopefully this time it's a different thing.

A bit late with my reaction I guess but indeed great news. I always regretted never having seen them live in the nineties since I have all their studio material + the EP. So as a fan I will be visiting Zoetermeer.
    Till then, Shadowland !!!!!!!!!!!
A day without prog is a wasted day
