Personally can't believe these are not already on here!

Bio:

San Francisco quintet Crime In Choir are an instrumental progressive rock band, comparable to Faust, Goblin, Magma, Soft Machine, etc. Founded in 2000, Crime In Choir released their previous full-length releases on Frenetic Records (2004’s The Hoop) and Omnibus (2002’s self-titled debut), respectively. The band’s third full-length, Trumpery Metier, was recorded by Tim Green, and is their first release for Gold Standard Labs.

On September 13, 2007, Crime in Choir performed at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art accompanied by light projections by visual artist, Anthony McCall.

Crime in Choir's fourth release, "Gift Givers" is due out this summer on the Japanese Moorworks record label, as well as iTunes - their previous label (Gold Standard Labs) closed its doors in October, 2007.

The description certainly makes it sound like this will be my cup of tea.  I'm trying to listen to http://www.myspace.com/crimeinchoir now, but I've been having problems with myspace today (the music keeps on seizing up, won't play properly. and my computer has been seizing when I've used myspace).

Try one of their videos on youtube:

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=A0PATH-5EKo (Hollow Crown)

Audio quality doesn't do them much justice though...great band!

It's working now; this is absolutely terrific!  I love it.  I'm thinking this might be great for Eclectic, but will need to listen more.

I suggested these guys for Math Rock...had a pretty good inkling that it wouldn't fly but I thought they needed to be on the website. Wherever they decide to land, it will be fine with me. (just not in math rockWink)

...Which I why it surprised to not see them listed here! I searched expecting to see more than a few 4/5 star reviews, but ended up finding zilch LOLCry
Hands down one of the albums of 2006 for me.

From what I've heard so far, I'd love to see it in Eclectic.  The myspace tracks still keep breaking up on me (I need to do some computer maintenance), and will try youtube.  And the second track has a neato-Kitaro vibe running underneath.

So Crime and Choir has been accepted for the Eclectic Prog category.  Mamboboy, if you would like to prepare the biography (in your own words) then I can add the band; otherwise, I'll try to prepare the bio and addition over the next few days -- perhaps tonight/ today, since it's nice to do when the music is still fresh for me (I still have some outstanding ones to do).

Excellent!
To be honest Logan (and without sounding lazy) i'd probably prefer it if you got the bio done. I don't really know much about the band, apart from that they make good music. Hell, I thought one of the members was ex-mars volta until yesterday, but upon reading up on it, it doesn't seem to be the case! Also you seem to have a broader idea on the genres and sub genres so i'd probably get it wrong!

Cheers :]

No problem, Mambo.  I hope to get it down by late this evening (provided I'm not too tired).

I haven't forgotten. As I said, I'd try to prepare over the next few days ( we accepted it very quickly).  I had hoped to a few nights ago, but was way too tired that evening, and my kids have been sick. Even if you don't know the category that well, but you're keen to see it added very fast (additions commonly take time), then you might consider preparing the materials yourself) just research and then write in your own words.  It's quite a lot of work to do right; otherwise, I will do it as soon as I have the opportunity (which won't be that long).  When I've added the band, you can add the album (I can PM you) if you want to (any member can).  Thanks for your patience.

Otherwise, I might do it tonight once the kids are asleep (just means a late night).  I originally had expected to have it done by today or tomorrow at the latest.

Mamboboy: I've added Crime in Choir: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=4102
Have not filled in the musicians line-up for the albums yet.  If you,  or someone, else wants to update that info, I'd appreciate it.  I'm very sleepy now.

I stumbled upon this band just before they were added to PA Approve

Trumpery Metier is a cracker of an album. I am still trying to pick the influences ... Crimson perhaps, or Soft Machine? I just can't put my finger on it ... maybe CiC's music is simply original.

Nice synthesisers and guitar. I really like the sax work, too.

I have the self-titled debut on its way ... and I am on the lookout for The Hoop.
