Baring in mind that these are all the songs where she is on lead vocals from the albums that I own. It's too tough a choice for me, but it would be between Paper Angels, Never The Rainbow, the direly underated Steal Away and Pieces of Love. I do love the Passengers album however. I'll decide later...

Bitterness Burnt has a special feel for me, and she certainly can sing beautifully.......
I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

All of them really - she could sing the telephone directory and I'd still love it.

If I had to pick one, it would be Evergreen, though I could make a strong case for Shrinking Violet and Flowers for Guns too.

I'm seeing them at York in 2 weeks and I gather Heather's still on maternity leave, so it'll be interesting to see how Olivia Sparnenn steps into the breach. Judging by her performances with Mostly Autumn and Iain Jennings' band Breathing Space (where she is lead vocalist) I suspect she'll do a damn fine job.

Shrinking violet, although not one of my all time favorite Mostly Autumn songs, has some really top notch vocals

I like Mostly Autumn a little bit but for some reason I can't take to them in a big way the vocals are great when Heather sings but when that guy sings I actually always get up and change the CD !  cant take the mediocre male voice knowing the the female voice is really really good.  why did they even use the male vocals is beyond me ?  I like the live version of Evergreen most I think.  Smile

Nice poll, Shrinking Violet was the first on my mind, but i have to mention thah her voice in songs like Evergreen or Unoriginal Sin are beautiful!ç

Just in addition, she did a great job in Ayreon's Human Equation as "Love"
