I also picked up six of these, and for a black ale, it is outstanding.

Yes, that is one of my favorites as well.

Just polished a 6pack of Flying Dog "In Heat Wheat".  Was good stuff.  Always been some of my favorites.

^How do you like it? For some reason I can't seem to get into Bell's. There is a weird flavor there that I don't care for.

I think it's great - but I know what you mean generally - for example, IPAs that are overly citrus-y are a turn off for me.

That looks good. I am currently working on a six pack of Old Dominion Baltic Porter, which is quite excellent.

Hmm, let us know how the Weisse is.  Have you ever had Hacker Pschorr Weisse?  It's a favorite of mine.

I just tried Green Flash IPA yesterday. I liked it as much as I can like an IPA, but I was not blown away.

I have one more bottle of Westlveteren 12 left. So I plan to drink that for the new year.

I also just bought a four pack of Dieu Du Ciel's attempt at a Bohemian Lager (I imagine it will be like a Czech Pilsner).

Also Barney Flat's Oatmeal Stout is the ultimate cozy winter beer.

It was fantastic- I look forward to acquiring another next time I go into town.

I have not had that one.

Maisel's is a great Weißbier, one of my favorites. I had it about a week ago, along with another one that was even better: Keiler Weißbier hell. It's probably rather unknown outside of Germany, but it really blew me away. Very strong yeast components. I used to prefer Dunkles to Helles (excuse me for not knowing any of the English terms), but this one might have changed my mind.

By the way, is that a Flying Dog on the second to the right, and if so, how was it?

Helles means light/pale. Dunkel means dark.

I have a bottle of the Maisel's in my fridge; I guess i better try it. Thus far the best Weisse beers I have had, have been from Weiheinstephaner. I love their hefeweizen and dunkelweizen.

I found the Hacker-Pschorr Weisse rather meh myself, but I could have had a bad bottle as I have only had it once.

Oh well, that was a bit misleading on my part. I didn't mean the style of beer which is called "Helles" in Germany (which is indeed pale lager), but rather "helles Hefeweizen", which would be a typical weisse, whereas "dunkles Hefeweizen" is a dark weisse.

Oh haha. Now I feel like I an idiot for making my comment.

Sorry.

Probably not anything I can actually get here, then.  That's too bad.

I drank a Porter yesterday and a Bavarian Beer, and some lovely Yule ale.
