We're a bunch of friends over here who share a *cough cough* "passion" for beer and brewing and have enjoyed Stockholm Beer and Whiskey Festival for the last three years. We also made a beer tour to Copenhagen this summer. Highly recommended!

We also run our own micro-micro brewery making all sorts of beer. It's great fun and surprisingly creative. Anyone else interested in brewing their own beer? We've tried lager, different stouts, an assortment of IPAs, some spiced beer, weissbier and a smoked porter. All from real malts, real yeast and real hops. The success rate so far is around 70%, give or take.

Is any other PAer into this?

It's from Squamish BC, so I doubt they export much

How was it Colin?  It looks awesome, I can almost taste the molassesLOL

Very heavy, very tasty.  Practically a meal, especially in that 1L bottle

I can't remember if I told you guys about my overcarbonated Hog's Head (a local beer) woes.  My replacement came today, for my one defective 6 pack I got an entire flat of beer (24) and a t-shirt.  Half "Hop Slayer" as before, the other half is "Baby Back Hops"

Also, new Christmas ale from Yukon Brewing is coming soon

Not entirely sure how I feel about the idea.

Linus, I never have but it sure sounds like fun!

Colin, how did you know it was defective and not just a highly carbonated brew?  Was it one you were already familiar with?

Cheers!Beer

I'm tipping a few Green Flash Brewing double stouts.

Kasteelbier Cuvée du Chateau

One of my favourites, matured for 10 years : Kasteelbier Cuvée du Chateau.

Karmeliet Tripel

Okay

so

My local place got one of only 6 kegs that Yukon sent to Alberta.  I drank 2 pints of the stuff tonight, it was actually really damn good.  Not nearly as fruity as I expected, basically a nice dark brown ale with a lot of subtle character.

Having a Founders dry-hopped Pale at the moment.

After several months into my "dark beer kick" I do believe that Founders is my favorite brewery.  They seem to be pretty consistent.  Love the Pale, the "dark sexy" Porter, and of course their Dirty b*****d scotch ale is my favorite beer of late.

In terms of styles I like the scotch ales.....any good dark ale with hints of scotch/bourbon behind it goes down really well.  I like the Stouts a lot too but I can't drink too much of that stuff or I get full fast.

This is quite an amazing bottle of beer.  Very intense and satisfying and yet not all that filling.  Strong rush of good coffee/cocoa bite with a bit of spice (cinnamon), the latter very subtle.

Founders continues to blow me away....looking forward to trying more of their seasonal and specialty brews if I can find them.

Thanks for the pick Wu!

No problem.........I like to try different brown ales and stouts whenever I can and  bought some of that for Christmas for my son in law.
You might want to try Stone vanilla porter also.
