Don't know what happened here - anyone interested in providing a bio? She could be added very quickly that way.

hey guys -- what ever happened to Hiromi? she was approved almost 2 months ago, but an artist page hasn't shown up yet! she's an incredible jazz fusion artist whose work is undeniably prog in my eyes, and each of her records is great!

Have you heard her last two albums with her new band called Hiromi's Sonicbloom. These albums are definitely fusion and worth it. Her earlier stuff is much jazzier indeed though. |

I agree. She'd be a good addition, though leans much more towards the jazz than the rock. Nonetheless, a great musician and perhaps fusion pianist.

I'd appreciate people in charge to pay attention to this thread. For some reason, Hiromi has been suggested quite some times and the case was never closed.

I know it's been discussed before but, to my knowledge (and through the searches I've made), no conclusions have been drawn.
I can't see why she isn't included in the jazz fusion section of PA yet. She fits perfectly. She's Chick Corea's protégé right now. She's like a younger female reincarnation of him. She's a virtuoso pianist who happens to be really melodious too. Her later albums with her band Hiromi's Sonicbloom are even closer to what the jazz fusion giants from PA sound like. Try them out. Here is her myspace page. It has samples. They're great one too. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=32084627 We need more girl proggers on Progarchives. |
