Hi all!
Well, since Winter just started here in Barcelona and it seems like it's gonna be a cold one (well, maybe not compared to some countries, but still cold for me) I need some wintry recommendations.
I used to listen to Sonata Arctica during the months of winter, but my taste for power metal has completely faded. Now I need some wintry prog, something with that icy feeling and cool melodies.

What would you recommend?

Hello, Tasartir.

It's too cold in the centre of Japan, too...
For me, in such a cold day I wanna listen to warm songs...e.g. Toward The Sun by Druid, Canto Di Primavera by Banco...

If you like cool music, how about Larks' Tongue In Aspic? It's cool in a sense I think.

Ommadawn is one that immediately comes to mind. Trespass and Selling England by the Pound are also quite cold and fragile. Maneige's Les Porches has a sort of cold-morning-bursting-into-life vibe for the title track.

Hate to bring metal into this... Oh what the hell, I'd love to bring it in I advise My Arms, Your Hearse and Morningrise by Opeth. Most things by Isis are very wintery, same goes with Death. For non-metal try the JT Christmas Album or Mostly Autumn's "Spirit Of Autumn Past". The track Pieces Of Love just makes me think of snow

Are you looking for something that sounds like winter or something that warms you up?
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Easy for me : Winter consort ! The albums - self titled, Road and Icarus. If you find the first two please inform me where did you get them since these ones became very hard to get.

It is only instrumental with beatiful melodies, a kind of mixture between jazz and ambient.
