Heh, we all know that's not what he was talking about ![]() However, I agree that Space Revolver is a brilliant album from beginning to end......with the exception of You Don't Know What You've Got, which isn't really terrible I guess, just seems kind of cliche and pointless (Tomas, I believe, told me on the old Flower Kings Yahoo mail group that they had included it because they felt the album needed a mellow respite from the full on prog that came before and after it.....I just think Roine could have tossed something far better off in 10 minutes that would have fit the bill.....incidentally, I also remember Roine saying he didn't care for the lyrics Hasse had for that tune, but liked the melody). |

Dennis we absolutely agree here, Space Revolver does have the single greatest Flower Kings song on it. For my money, you don't get any better than I Am the Sun.

Yes, I have I Am The Sun edited together as one piece on my special Flower Kings double 80 minute CD set.
How can you not love Space Revolver?

Donde aprendistes tu espanol?
Si. Verdad, es mas facil para decir que para escribir en espanol! Claro.
I learned Spanish the hard way. (Living at the beach and trying to figure out how to order Pina Coladas!)
In South America they don't really speak any English at all, so you have to keep trying your Spanish until
you get it right or you won't get what you are looking for! That is some pretty strong motivation.
Ibiza sounds great, but sounds much more expensive that the beaches in Colombia or Venezuela. I think I was paying
2 dollars US for a large pina colada on a very nice beach with music... just for reference. But then again, you Brits
have much more holiday spending $$$ than us Yanks do (in most cases...)
Do you think Barney will shave his back before he hits the beach in Ibiza?

Sorry to hear you were sick. I had food poisoning a few years ago and I would've gladly taken a swift death. I was literally scared I was going to drown in my own puke. It just kept coming! Sorry to be so gross. I sleep for 2 days after that. What a nightmare.

Welcome SPM, I Am the Sun is a masterpiece. Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of that entire album. Love Rumblefishtwist, but the rest I don't get. BTW, has anyone ever tried to edit together the two I Am the Sun parts? Wonder how that would sound.?

I am not a particular fan of hypnotic Trance, don't mind a bit of ambient spacy chords - it's just the whole hacienda style drug induced culture I just find unfathomable. Roj has always had this strange predilection for electronic music - I draw the line at Kraftwerk and Tangerine dream and a bit of Global communication none of which you could really spas out to in a discotheque......

Dennis, yo hablo espanol un poco, however much better spoken than written .I'd recommend a trip to Ibiza Dennis for sure. The hotels run the whole gamut from cheap n cheerful to top of the range and very posey. An afternoon, evening and indeed morning on the terrace or in the club at Space is a great experience. The music may be "dance" but it tends to be trancey and hypnotic therefore gets a big from me. I saw Sasha and John Digweed once at Space and that is one of my favourite nights ever. Brilliant music, great atmosphere, unfortunately (very) expensive alcohol etc etc. |

In response to the sickness - I have discovered on return to work that several other people from work suffered similar symptoms over the weekend - which suggests a viral antigen rather than a bacterial one! I am off to the quiet east coast of Ibiza - I want none of that god-awful dance-sh*te pounding down my lug-holes thanks very much!
I shall be listening to symphonic prog whilst toasting myself in a secluded spot so the Mrs and I can do a bit of total body exposure to UvA & UvB radiation......
On the food front - I actually prefer Anglicised asian food to most others - I just love the chilli burn of a good old vindaloo............

Hmm, keeping this a "wife friendly" post, sure we can pretend you know nothing of the sort of goings on in Ibiza... About Barney's culinary misadventure: I have no idea what eel pie is except that it is mentioned about 50 times in my favorite WHO record: Quadrophenia. I personally love eel when it is baked and served at a Sushi bar. It is the best! Are the hotels in Ibiza expensive? I speak Spanish so maybe I should take a holiday there.. Latin women are the best (trust me on that...)Edited by dennismoore - June 18 2013 at 18:40 |

I never saw any Dennis, though its full of beautiful people. Ibiza is the real dance music party island though there are quieter resorts too. And even though its in Spain us Brits can still get our staple food - fish and chips. I must correct you though young sir, us northerners wouldn't be seen dead eating bellies well or pie and mash, thats for shandy drinking southerners ;-). |

It's always good to reference Alien, or indeed it's superior sequel Aliens. However this doesn't sound pleasant, glad to hear you're better. Ibiza eh? Clubbing it down Space or Manumission? Where are you staying? Actually Ibiza is really nice and only 2.5 hour flight too, enjoy!! |

Barney: What did you eat that gave you the trouble? I would guess:
1. Eel Pie
2. Bangers & Mash
3. Fish & Chips
4. Haggas
Which was it?
about your pending holiday...
Two weeks in Spain is not enough. Isn't Ibiza where all the pron stars go to make their movies?

Yeah, they are like bonus CD's, not really essential but fun to hear for hard core fans. There are some very good tracks mixed in here and there on them, just not really anything as good as on the studio albums. Though I will say that the 2002 fan club CD is my favorite and I liked it better than the next full album release, Adam & Eve ![]() Edited by infandous - June 18 2013 at 10:21 |

Welcome to the group! You have a good user name for this group ![]() Your favorites are good, though I personally don't care much for Monsters&Men, but plenty of others here love it as well. Saw Power Of Two as well, in Pittsburgh PA, and have seen the Flower Kings 3 times (the first time in 2001, the most recent just a few weeks ago). Never seen Transatlantic, sadly (but since they will tour again, I have another chance!). |
