Psiglo, famous Progressive Rock band from Uruguay. Considered one of the most important bands in the history of Southern American Rock. They're said to be in the Top 20 of the Heavy Prog Bands alongside Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, King Crimson and Uriah Heep. Including future drummer of Symphonic Prog band, Crucis.

I'll submit them to the HP team for evaluation, hoping there won't be a repeat of the Pescado Rabioso issue if they should be rejected.

Especially as Raff is now the Queen of the HPT....you would do well to not get on her bad side, young one.

Not this time, since now you're part of the team and not a messenger!
BTW: To make clarify the thing of Pescado Rabioso, I ''knew'' that Heavy Prog wasn't for them, but I did expect them to be in Prog-Related, as you can clearly see in my previous posts. But whatever... |

You might want to check with Ivan too. They were requested through the Site Monitors email a while ago. I forwarded the information to Ivan because I couldn't read the website other than the sounding like Uriah Heep, and I knew that Ivan was a big Uriah Heep fan. I know that he was going to try and contact somebody regarding the band, but I don't think that he had much luck.

They will be evaluated by us as soon as possible. Now Micky is listening to Banco, and don't want to tell him to take the CD off. Anyway, I posted the link in the HP team thread, so when Jared gets back online he can have a listen if he wants to.

They have a page on a website dedicated to Uruguayan music:
http://www.deluruguay.net/historia/historia.asp?idint=1&orden=1 However, I don't think there is any music to be heard there, and without any samples we cannot really evaluate them. |

Their MySpace works perfect to me, what does it appear to you?
I'll try to send MP3 or whatever to someone of the Heavy Prog team, I'll need their e-mails, unless they can be sent to the Heavy Prog team thread. |

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

OK, I'll try again with their MySpace... Opened it yesterday, but didn't get any music, then had something else to do, and forgot about it.
Edit: it seems to work now... It just took a long time to load. Edited by Raff - January 27 2009 at 08:15 |

Found Psiglo-Ideacion & II through some music blogs. Ideacion would be (IMO) borderline proto-prog if it had come out in 1968. Really nothing to draw a progger except for the B3, and two songs that will have you thinking that Uriah Heep's Easy Livin is about to play.
Psiglo II ... the last three songs are proggish - No Tiene Razon de ser is a somewhat poppish song that sounds like Meddle era Floyd. El Juglar Y Yo, and Gil 1038 are more proggy, but Gil 1038's attraction is its' Santana like influence. The one part that will draw kneejerk support will be the occasional flute passages. HP is not my team, but if Psiglo had enjoyed the same success as Klaatu or Angel, we'd face major opposition to their inclusion based on Ideacion & Psiglo II. As a matter of fact, if you take these 2 Psiglo LPs, and then the aforementioned groups first two releases, Psiglo comes out sounding dated, and with less prog credentials. As for the link to the Uruguyan music scene, I don't read spanish, but I didn't see any word that seemed to indicate their music being called progressive, although there seems to have been a political bent to their career. If needed, I can find the links for sharing, and would appreciate in return a summary of their bio in English. Edited by debrewguy - January 27 2009 at 13:10 |

^I already had found them and sent to the Heavy Prog team, thanks anyways.
While I did find information(almost in every note) in which Psiglo are considered fair along the top 20 of Heavy Prog bands, along with Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep and KC. |
