To say that this is a shock is an understatement.

I have always loved John Martyn. Not only for his music but also for his spirit and zest for LIFE!

My art teacher introduced me to his music in 1971 with the album,Bless the Weather.I in turn introduced others to his music. His music has always been extremely personal to me.

When John Martyn was around there was always the outside possibility of Immortality. Now that he has gone the skies have become that bit darker.

Rest in Peace,John, but only if you want to,

Do 'The Stanley' otherwise I'll thrash you with some rhubarb.

Oh dear, this is shocking!

I can only recommend everyone who loves Brand X, and Peter Gabriel's most sensitive solo ballads, to listen to John Martyn's GRACE AND DANGER. It's one of the best albums Phil Collins ever played drums on - far, far better than anything Phil did with the likes of Robert Plant or Eric Clapton, and EVEN better than the things he did with Eno or John Cale...

RIP - The now late, great musician whose influence touched all those who appreciate great music.

Whether you loved him, or perhaps you didn't, his influence has spread to effect more aspects of music than anyone can measure.

God bless you John and thank you. Myself among many others will miss you very much.

Unhappy A great pity - John Martyn was a brilliant songwriter - and I always loved his extraordinary live performances - could see him live once here in Germany in the 90s ...

RIP John
