They're weird experimental ragtime. Most songs have honky tonk piano, and there are many unusual instruments for a rock setting, such as marimba, xylophone, sax, euphonium, French horn, melodica, and trash cans. Some of the vocals remind me of Mike Patton.

Good stuff. I'm listening to the myspace: http://www.myspace.com/wearemanman
Very familiar.... Official site: http://www.wearemanman.com/ Here is the wikipedia description: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man_Man
I now remember this one being discussed before (does a search): Topic: Man Man for RIO/Avant or Eclectic? Forum: Suggest New Bands and Artists Ah, yes I responded to the suggestion in the thread I linked to above. I didn't think it right for Eclectic then. It has a Beefheart vibe with Tom Waits stylings and is reminding me of Samla Mammas Manna in parts. Avant Prog didn't make a final decision, so we'll see what happens. I certainly think this is worthy of inclusion somewhere. Topic: Man Man Forum: Suggest New Bands and Artists Checks the charts: Man Man was being evaluated by the Avant Prog team.
I really like this. |
