So a point for clarification, since we are a forum of many members from many countries, where is the line drawn for what can be discussed and what can't? To get to a specific example which got me thinking about the question, If all countries except for the USA were to make marijuana use legal, would it then be acceptable to discuss openly? If only the the US were to and no others, what then? What about other polarizing issues like Israel/Palestine?

I am of course referring to the Phelps thread. Feel free to substitute "file swapping, polygamy, speeding", etc. for marijuana. (Perhaps that I raise these questions is plenty good reason why I must never be promoted to admin status.)

From the Site Rules & Guidelines:

5. No Illegal activities. Posts and threads promoting or facilitating file swapping, drug abuse, or any other forum of illegal activity are not permitted. Any such posts will be deleted

My interpretation of that would be something along the lines of... "Anyone living in the Vancouver area, if you want crystal meth, call my dealer number at 9-1-1..." sort of thing.

I think we should be able to discuss things as long as they don't stir up attention from any official sources. For example, we could talk about the effects of drugs, but let's not go telling new members they can get 'instant collab' status if they tape a video of themselves shooting up a double dose or something.

Besides... everything short of murder and treason is legal in Canada.

If any individuals get a PM from a stranger who is interested in you and wants to get to know you better, absolutely do not contact as it's part of a scam.
