Still fail to hear those stolen riffs, sorry Cert. And as you yourself admitted, these stolen riffs have been altered, so I really seem to have fallen hook, line and sinker for the tricks of them sneaky, riff-stealing, non-prog carpetbaggers!

To be fair, though, one of the riffs in "Endless Sacrifice" ("Train of Thought") sounds strikingly similar to a Symphony X riff from "The Divine Wings of Tragedy" title suite.

It's good to hear, however, that DT is in such good company - Led Zep (compare the opening of "Immigrant Song" and one of the songs from Lucifer's Friend's album with the same title. "Ride in the Sky" is the song in question, I think), Deep Purple...

I've listened to ELP trilogy and Spartacus and I find no similarities - other than the Triumvirat effort is superior.........

???? How can you say that.

I think the similarity is very very big. Like Threefates (I think) said in another thread, Jurgen fritz just wanted to be an Emerson...yes is a good keyboardist, but cheesy composition at all !!

some parts are quite similar, but who cares? I find the overall sound and style VERY different from ELP, and most of all BETTER!!

Certainly, ELP greatly influenced Triumvirat... but I see it as their own. I love Spartacus.

Also, about Led Zeppelin. I hear (and it's confirmed) that the intro to Stairway to Heaven isn't theirs... they took it from a band they were touring with at the time (the name of the band is escaping me at the moment)

I wrote "Stairway to Heaven" 7 times before I realised that Jimmy Page had already done it

Yeah but Jimmy Page pinched it from 'Taurus' on the first Spirit album didn't he?

And the titletrack from "The Seventh House" is said to have a stolen riff, although I don't remember now who it was stolen from...
