Hi!

I'm really curious about this... (I didn't find any similar poll). Which one do you prefer and why?

I find that "Machine Messiah" is one of their best song but I'm not sure to prefer Drama all the same, even if I really like it!

What about you?

I like both albums...  for different reasons of course... Tormato is interesting because it is great material... ruined by the band.  While Drama is sub-par material.. made great by a rejuvenated band.

Thumbs Up A great poll about lesser subjects! As different as these two albums might be, they are IMO both worth a 2.5 star rating, neither good nor bad. Ermm... I can't decide which one is the best. If you should have added 90125, I could vote.

yep...  90125..... that could be.. should be a thread upon itself.  Probably one of the more misunderstood albums on the site.

The poll can be closed LOL it's well said!

But "Machine Messiah" is great isn't it? One of the darkest Yes songs...

just opinion of course but think Yes was Yes being Yes at their sunny day in the English countryside best.  They weren't a dark band.. and didn't think they were particularly good at it when they tried it.  It's like KC trying  songs like And You and I LOL

not that I thought it was bad... it just wasn't what they did best..

^my post was simple Micky, excellent album, easy choice, Drama. Unless you knew what I thought with my post, and wanted to make some friendish discussionWink

Yes you may be right, that they weren't that good at making dark things, but songs like Does It Really Happen, Into the Lens and Tempus Fugit, are really Yes, with Chris' great bass playing and Steve's distinctive guitar style. Does are the songs that really make me wanna listen to the album, and I really think they can some Yes classics, in musicanship "range".

BTW: Very good news, well at least for me, hehe, I passed the History/Geography exam today!!! You should be having a feast there in the AR mansion!LOL

oh no Pablo.. I was responding the the OP... not trying to start sh*t LOL

As far as my point with Tormato...  proof is the pudding... listen to the live recordings of that material.. and ask Yes what tour they feel they were at their best... yep.. the Tormato tour.  Most say those were Yes's greatest shows. The album didn't do the material justice.

'Drama' wins hands down!

The Yes that recorded Tormato was an uninspired band, in need of a creative makeover. I still find it bizzare that The Buggles saved the day, but it worked so I dont knock it. 'Machine Messiah' 'Tempus Fugit' and 'Does it Really Happen' are all Yes classics in my opinion.

^you're not the only one! Well, it didn't happen with Yes with me, but I really had no idea that Deep Purple had different singers back when I was 12, even though I heard differences between Burn, Space Truckin' and Hush, hehe

About half of Drama is really really good.  The other half of it sucks.

Tormato is three quarters boring and one quarter sucky.

So Drama wins this despite it's glaring flaws.
