It's more pop-prog a la Styx rather than epic oriented symphonic prog.  This may be why it's not rated as high as others.  Still great.  I love the cover.  That was when the computer generated pics started looking really good.

Crack the Big Sky Approve And a bunch of other good songs. Yeah, I must admit it's one of my least favourites from theirs, probably due to that lack of epicness, but still a good album.

You love the music, the music loves you!

Brief Nocturnes is a pretty damn fine album IMO.....of course The Light is pretty amazing too as is V. Really hoping V gets issued on vinyl soon.

Fine words there, Jose - I agree totally. Hopefully InsideOut get their collective heads on and start cranking out more Spock's vinyl.

Yes, yes it does sound perfectly fine on CD. But it just doesn't look and feel the same during the listening experience......

Brief Nocturnes and V are way out in front compared to other SB releases I own.

^ Thought someone would respond like that .....
...... well, an LP is aesthetically more appealing in this neck of the woods than a CD. 1700+ LP's verses 100+ CD's = favour of the 12" x 12" format.......

LP's are for nostalgia , just can't be arsed getting my turntable set up really.....CD for convenience.....Vinyl to subject to damage - can't be doing with the tick, tick, tick of an annoying scratch!!!
Mind you that's more acceptable than the bloody annoying Morse lyrics...maybe he should sing in Spanish or summat so we could just listen to his voice along with the rest of the music....it works for Argentinian prog anyway....
