I just found out Gong will be playing a nine-date UK tour this November. (Sorry if it's already been announced; I didn't see it!) Daevid Allen, Steve Hillage, Gilly Smyth, Miquette Giraudy, Theo Travis AND Mike Howlett are to take part (among others). I think I'll be attending the Oxford gig, on November 28th. Anyone care to join me?

Ooh. Not too familiar with Gong (though I should be, maybe), but I'd like to get to the Leamington gig.

(Actually, maybe the Oxford one would be better... could well be there by then)

Steve Hillage was on Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone on BBC 6music just now (it ought to be on iplayer in a few hours) plugging this tour AND a new Gong album set for release this September. Along with a couple of album tracks which I'm sure a lot of us know inside-out, they played an early live track from 1970 which I'd never heard before. Good stuff.

I think I'm definitely going to be turning up at one of these dates, though I've no idea which yet.

Whoooooa.....Mr.Hillage is still alive?!?

As a youth I used to watch Steve play at London's Markey club;his drummer passed out from heat exhaustion.

God rest
