Yes, I will of course. Smile BTW, look what I found on omegafreunde.de:

Do you recognise the guy on the left standing in front of Omega's drummer? Wink

It's better late than never... Smile Anyway, it's my turn to remember.

First of all, my and my wife's thanks to Bartek (Tuzvihar) Clap, whose announcement on PA of Omega gig in Warsaw gave us the idea to kick up our asses move to Poland and see one of our favourite bands live. He also was our guide in Warsaw and showed us lots of interesting things (of course including record stores and Polish music) and places.

While many great  British bands often play in Russia, East European artists rarely visit our country. Rumours of planned Omega concert in Moscow appear from time to time, but everytime they stay only rumours.

It was a dream to see Omega show. And it was a dream to visit Poland (I've been in Warsaw quite a long ago, oh my God... it was 1979 and it was in many ways different country). Both dreams came true.

Some words in addition to Bartek's report and some photos made by my wife.

Sala Kongresowa, where the concert took place.

Light and laser show (there were no fireworks, Natasha still regrets a little about it Smile):

György Molnár and never-standing-still János Kobor:

The concert was organised in order to celebrate the Day of Polish-Hungarian friendship and, as Bartek already mentioned, dedicated to the memory of Czesław Niemen. Mihály Tamás told the audience that Niemen and Omega were good friends and even planned to play a gig together, but unfortunately it never happend. He also told that the last time Omega played in Poland about 30 years ago.

János Kobor:

László Benkö, keyboard wizard:

Ferenc Debreceni:

György Molnár:

"Mosquito improvisation" by György Molnár. He imitated with his guitar the sound of flying mosquito and tried to catch imaginary insect:

At last, the "beast" is caught and killed. "Rest in peace":

Enthusiastic reception by the audience:

All good things can't last endlessly. On the left - Zsolt Gömöri, the only guest musician in Warsaw gig, keyboardist and Omega collaborator at least since 1999:

We were lucky to see Omega in relatively small (I guess about 2 000 seats) venue. The sound was almost perfect, voices and all instruments were clearly heard. I don't think it's possible to provide equally good sound at football arenas like Nepstadion in Budapest, where Omega usually plays last years.

About an hour after the show most devoted fans (some of them arrived from Germany and Hungary) could get band's autographs:

János Kobor, ever moving onstage, offstage is one of the quietest persons I ever saw, carefully listening to what people tell him:

In my opinion, very good portrait of Mihály Tamás:

All musicians were extremely friendly, never looking like "stars". They talked with people, joked and patiently signed everything fans asked: posters, CDs, LPs.

We had a chance to speak a little to Omega too:
- Natasha: We came, specially to your concert, from Moscow.
- Mihály Tamás: From Russia with love?
- Natasha: Exactly so!
- I: (to János Kobor): Omega plays magical music and your voice is a big part of this magic.
- János Kobor (in clear Russian): Spasibo (i.e. Thank you).

Autograph session lasted more than an hour. In the end security asked (3 times) remaining people whether everybody received autographs. Only when musicians were sure that it is so they went to dressing room.

Thanks a lot to Omega - for music and for their friendly attitude to listeners.
