Although they are not my favourite drummers they are among the most popular in prog rock. I prefer Peart since he is more subtle and varied than Portnoy.

I thought it was going to read "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter". So I'll go along with it. No, I can't believe it's not butter because it tastes just so... Buttery.

And people know my opinions on Porntoy here by now I'm sure. But in case you didn't, I'm going with Peart.

One of my favorite drummers vs. one of my (former) favorite drummers, but hasn't done anything mindblowing for his bands' last two albums.

Peart it is.

Camel by far, they're like, a whole band and stuff and Neil Peart is just a drummer. And it's all subjective anyways.

I can't believe it's another Peart or Portnoy poll.  LOL (of course the old polls are locked, so I'm not complaining, but couldn't resist).

How about Peart vs. a monkey with a stick? Wink

I believe Portnoy has a triple bass set...so Peart even though he isn't my favorite. I mean their sets are so huge you could attach drum sticks to you and through yourself around and come up with some interesting beats and fills

Neil Peart. He's more varied and plays with more 'persomality'

Portnoy is technically superb, but he sounds interchangable with most 'above average' heavy metal/prog metal drummers to me.

Both are pretty tedious a lot of the time. Peart's probably done more stuff that I like, though I'm probably not going to vote.
