An interesting theatrical project by a Russian-Israeli musician

I'd suggest for either Eclectic or Cross-over.

After several more listening "sessions" Cross Over is probably a better fit than Eclectic

I found them on MALS label, but I doubt they're Prog (at least, Prog-Related). Nice band anyway, Assaf, thanks for reminding

There's nothing Jewish about the music I heard in their website. Just because the guy lives in Israel doesn't mean his music is Jewish sounding. (By the way, Manouche in Hebrew is not a word you want to use... ;-)  I can tell you in private why).

The music has an avant-ish edge, but nothing much more, not really qualifying them as avant-prog, but if no one else wants them, then maybe that's the best place after all.

Assaf.. unless you think avant is a better place than Xover....  I suggested them to the Folksies as a first course before Xover per Dean and my thoughts..  but I guess I should have known better LOL

Avant would be my third option after X-O and Folk. So if both teams say No, I'll take it to my ZART for evaluation.

Thanks to both teams for listening. !

Xover has accepted.. but we thought Folk would be a better fit.. but christ almighty...  Xover is a much better fit for that than damn avant...  avant?  sorry.. but didn't see anything avant in that.

Indeed, I agree that it is not a good fit and there's a very small "amount" of avant in there; it's funny how we all hear things differently.
So if X-O has agreed, then that's great!

Zlye Kukly (Fred Adra) is Russian, he is only based in Israel... the vocals are also in Russian. In an online interview he said he knows little of the Russian and Israeli music scene and most of his influences are English and German.
What?

Yeah I know this, I was responding to Hugues post about putting it with the Jewish/Klezmer bands in Avant, which to me doesn't seem to fit cause it's not avant and definitely not Jewish "sounding".

So, I'll take care of the addition, thank you both.

Well the problem is I can't listen to their music from work , I can't install the new adobe software (administrator's rights) >>> I'll try from home next week.

Manouche is the name of the Tzigan tribe in Belgium and Northern France and they often play the same type of music and the trad jewish music. (PM me for the jewish meaningWink)

Well I went ahead and added Zlye Kukly to Prog Folk after some collab discussion; and listed them as being from Israel (not Russia).  Hopefully that works for everyone.
