Oho
Lots of samples can be found of their three prior albums (Bricolage, Up and Oho), but the really proggie stuff is vinyl only, which is pretty rare and expensive to come by. I've only seen those at outrageous prices on ebay and I honestly don't know if their own website is complete with their discography as I've seen people in the past selling other albums that is not listed there. I think most people would know them by their self titled 1990 cd which is pretty common to find in budget bins.

Well they're not prog folk for sure. But I think they have a place here. My first thought is RIO/Avant (emphais on the avant part); in some ways they remind me of Cerberus Shoal. I dropped this thread in that team's inbox for them to give a consideration. I wouild imagine you'll be hearing from them onme way or the other in due time. |

The samples on this page:http://www.ohomusic.com/mp3_page.htm have nothing to do with avant-rock (good music though), and I don't hear the prog side of it as well.
Are there any samples of what is regarded their prog songs/albums? Edited by avestin - March 28 2009 at 18:17 |

Sorry, I didn't even listen to those. I was referring to the reissue of their Okinawa and Vitamin Oho CDs. The Cerberus Shoal comment refers to the fact that their style changes wildly from album to album, and some of them are duds (like the one from the mp3 page and I suspect their self-titled one as well, although I only heard one track from it). And on their Okinawa CD they do sound like Cerberus Shoal circa late 90s IMHO. |

Ok, so I'll see if I can sample that album then or any of their vinyl only releases.
Thanks, Bob |
