Topic: Anesthetize vs. Echoes Posted: March 30 2009 at 11:38 |
For some reason, I just started comparing them in my head, while listening to Anesthetize. Yeah, I don't know either. So anyway, I was wondering what other people thought about them. Note that this is about which one you LIKE better, not which one IS better. No higher significance

This time it's time for me not to be with Pink Floyd. Porcupine Tree for me here!

Though it's always cool when a student beats the teacher, and Anesthetize definitely is close to what I'd call a modern masterpiece... but Echoes is too impressive.

Echoes, no contest. Anesthetize is very good, but Echoes is gorgeous.

Anesthetize is a PT highpoint, Echoes is one of Floyd's weaker moments. No contest.

I actually like Echoes. Anesthetize is sleepytime.

Echoes is sheer masterliness.
Anesthesize is just good.

Both tracks are divided into 3 clear sections. For me I find the middle noise section of Anesthetise to be slightly less appealing than the Echoes whale middle section so that will sway me towards the Floyd epic.Just!

Anesthesize and by far. Never quite understood all the mega hype aroun Echoes, they have better songs.

Another reverberating vote for "Echoes." "Anesthetize" puts me to sleep (not really, but I do prefer "Echoes").

Comparing apples and zebras, hardly?
By pure preference I'll take PT over PF in this one.

Both are great, Anesthetize gets my vote although the Live version of Echoes is amazing.

Echoes is going to win considering how preferences on this site go. So one more vote to the loser.

This. Although I slightly prefer PTree overall, Echoes is gonna take this one.

I'm not a huge PF fan (anymore), but Echoes still blows my mind. As others have said, Anesthetize is just good.

I'm no longer really into PT that much, but Anesthetize was one of the better songs 2007 had to offer. Gets my vote.
