I would say that the first 6-7 minutes of Anaesthetize is the best slice of music produced by PT in the last 10-12 years or so, however the rest of the piece simply doesn't live up to that start.
 
Unfortunately for PT, Echoes is one of my all-time favourite tracks, so chalk up another for Echoes.

The PT epic is pretty good but Echoes is a shimmering masterpiece, easily gets my vote.

Echoes, Anesthetize does exactly that.

I couldn't agree more. Echoes is such a let down compared to great works, such as Animals. However, Anesthetize is fantastic even after many listens. PT, no contest.
