Which is the best from this collection?
I'll comment later.

You sir are an evil man.
Could be Diana, Drip Drip, Song To Comus, or The Bite.
Lets say Song To Comus this time.

"The Herald"
I love that acoustic instrumental bit that starts 3 and a half minutes in.

I have heard a few songs of this album. I won't have a closer look on the lyrical content: it may be well-written, but some passages are utterly disgusting. As for the music, 'Song to Comus' does not rise even an inch above mediocrity, whereas 'The Herald' is a true gem. No vote.

I love this album despite finding some of the lyrics disgusting. Anyway, I'll be the first to vote for "The Bite".

I have to go with Drip Drip. It's by far my favorite vocally. Very eccentric with great harmonies. Also my favorite lyrics.
Musically it's nice and varied and the main melody just blows me away every time its repeated.

Drip Drip is a wonderful song and is definitely what opened up Comus' sound to me. But these days I prefer "Song to Comus", which is just such an intense listening experience.

Seconded . Actually, "Song to Comus" was the first thing I heard by the band - and it was the MP3 included on this site.

This is a real toughie for me. I love the whole album, but in the end I voted for 'Drip Drip.' That repeated melody is just incredible, plus this was the song that got me hooked on Comus!
I've only just joined this site actually, with but one intention: discuss Comus.

If you have but one intention, you couldn't have chosen a more interesting album/ band to discuss. One of the greatest albums in the archives in my opinion (and one of my "desert island" picks).

The Herald gets my vote, but it could have gone to any of the tracks. I agree with Logan, it's one of the best albums here, IMO (especially one of my top two Prog Folk albums, along with Mice and Rats in the Loft).

It is between The Herald and Drip Drip for me. I agree with Salty, it is my favorite Prog Folk album that I've heard.
