It was a quite impressive evening (04/08/2009) with two bands from Poland touring in Europe at the moment ...

They have some similiarities with the sound and the performance on the stage.
Hard working bass player Mariusz Ziółkowski appeared in both bands and made out the main attraction on this evening.
Each time the gigs were also provided with a jamming part in an ambient/psychedelic mood where the singers changed to a melancholic laid-back behaviour.

AFTER started off with a blend of heavy and neo prog, sometimes a little bit metal edged too. Two guitars are arranging the heavy rocking fundament.
The songs are made up quite diversified. Surprisingly they are not added to PA yet - it's about time ...

QUIDAM is more mellow, not only because they have a flute player in the line-up. And the songs are coming up more elaborated.
Guitarist Maciek Meller is in a class of his own. Sadly they didn't play my personal showpiece 'Hands Off'.

Far too less spectators considering there were only two gigs in Germany performed by the bands ...  Unhappy

Hahahaha - the bassists of both bands may appear like twins, because in fact it is the same guy, Mariusz Ziółkowski, the hardest working man on tour, as he was introduced by singer Bartek Kossowicz

As far as I know after has been considered as an addition, but has been rejected. I agree they deserve inclusion even as Prog Related, since Metallica deserves so...

I saw Quidam and After on Monday in Wałbrzych and there were so few people, even in tiny venue, that it was really gig for friends - but they have played marvelously

And spoil my comments to your commentsSmile nevertheless, I think they will include Hands Off on new DVD - they are recording it next Saturday, 18th April in Konin, near Poznań

Quidam are planning to record it with sax player and violinist.
yet you still have time!
