http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/01/21/purdue-shooting/4719831/

At Purdue today, my brother's TA was shot while he was in class.  My brother was sitting two feet from the shooter when it happened.  He is safe and okay though, he was able to run all the way back to his apartment right after it happened. You hear about these things all the time, but when it happens so close to home it's just unreal.  My prayers go out to Purdue and and the victim's family.

Just read after Agi posted in Shred. My Dad and I are huge fans and saddened us both.

I really enjoyed his recent work in The Master.

I have no idea who he is. I'm sure he'll be missed by those who know him and those that like his films.

He really was one of our best.  There are VERY few actors/actresses out there that I give two sh*ts about....people whose presence would actually make me go out of my way to see a film.  Hoffman was one who did make you go out of your way....you knew he was going to be interesting no matter what the film was like.

So sad to lose another to drugs.  Especially when he had three little ones at home.

Everyone has their favorite and he won awards for some of his higher profile roles.  But my fave was a lesser known film called "Owning Mahowny" where he played a banker with a terrible gambling problem.  But truly I enjoyed all of his films.

That court would automatically become a candidate for all Nobel Prizes, in every category, even sciences and mathematics.
