Eloy Fritsch receive the Açorianos Music Awards!!!
The awards ceremony happened on April 28, 2008, Tuesday night at the São Pedro Theater, Porto Alegre, Brazil. The Açorianos Music Awards honor the best albums, musicians and contributions to the music in South o Brazil.
Eloy Fritsch is the keyboardist, founder and main composer of progressive rock band Apocalypse . The Apocalypse  release 10 ProgRock albuns and completed 25 years in the stages playing progressive rock. Fritsch has dedicated a big part of his life to the band, creating a vast repertoire of progressive rock songs. He has studied the piano, synthesizers, cello, guitar and singing, composition and computer music. Parallel to his activites with the band, he also teachs music at the university, where he works as composer/researcher at the Center of Electronic Music in the Arts Institute of the Federal University if Rio Grande do Sul. He has released 8 CDs as solo artist and contributed with tracks to several other CDs. He was awarded as best instrument in 1991 at the FestPop and was chosen 4 times as best progrock keyboard player in the pools organized by the Rock Progressivo Brasil website ( On top of this, he was selected as best keyboard player in the 1999 edition of Progday, when Apocalypse recorded their double live album in the USA. Eloy has been featured in articles on “Keyboard”, “Música & Tecnologia”, “Cover Teclado”, “21st Century Music”, “Teclado & Áudio” and “E-dition” magazines.

This guy should be added to Symphonic.  I just heard his album 'Behind the Walls of Imagination' and IMHO it definitely qualifes.
